4 Tyrone players claim Ulster Colleges All Stars

Congratulations to Christoper McGuigan & Conan McLernon (Both Moortown & Holy Trinity Cookstown), Enda McGarrity (Galbally & St Ciaran’s Ballygawley) & Lee Brennan (Trillick & St Michael’s Enniskillen) on their selection for the Danske Bank Ulster Colleges All Stars.

A special congratulations must also go to Lee, as he becomes only the second ever player to pick up 3 consecutive All Star awards and the first to claim all 3 in the same position!

 

Full-back: Christopher McGuigan
School : Holy Trinity Cookstown.
Club: St Malachy’s, Moortown
Christopher becomes the second player from his school to be awarded an All-star following Jason Rocks last year, also in the full-back line. Christopher has been a member of Development Squads throughout the age-levels in Tyrone and was a Tyrone minor player in 2014.
With Moortown, he has won a number of county under-age medals in league and championship.

Right-corner forward : Lee Brennan
School : St Michael’s Enniskillen
Club : Trillick St Macartan’s
Lee becomes only the second player to Tony McEntee to win three successive football All-stars, all of them at corner-forward. He was the youngest player on the St Michael’s MacRory Cup winning team in March 2012. His brother Rory captained that team that reached the Hogan Cup final and Lee is this season’s captain.
Lee was on 2013 Tyrone minor team that reached the All-Ireland final and has been a member of the Ulster under 16 elite squad. He has won Under 14 and Under 16 League medals with St Macartan’s Trillick.
Lee has also had soccer trials with both Everton and Preston.

Full forward : Enda McGarrity
School: St Ciaran’s Ballygawley
Club: Galbally Pearses’
Enda has a Vocational Schools’ Tyrone All-star and captained his school team to the county title. A versatile player, he was on the 2014 Tyrone Minor team starting at wing half-back.
He has captained Galbally to under 14 championship and Féile na nÓg titles and made his club senior debut when he 16. His brother Conal won MacRory and Hogan Cup medals with St Patrick’s, Dungannon, while his uncle Ronan played for Tyrone in the 1995 All-Ireland Senior final.

Left-corner forward : Conan McLernon
School : Holy Trinity College, Cookstown
Club: St Malachy’s, Moortown
Conan has a Brock Shield medal and has played for the past two years with Tyrone minors, winning an Ulster league medal.
With Moortown, he has won a number of county under-age medals in league and championship including most recently at minor level.
