Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Thír Eoghain: 4-Wall Handball Tyrone Finals 2017

Allianz Cumann na mBunscol, Thír Eoghain, held their 4-Wall Handball County Finals on Tuesday 24 January in the magnificent Loughmacrory Handball Alley. Primary schools from across the county competed for a number of prestigious titles in the U11 and U13 grade for Girls and Boys, at Singles and Doubles level.
A large crowd of spectators were treated to a spectacle of the highest order, as the participants showcased their vast array of skills. It appeared that every ounce of energy was expended by these young Gaels in their bid to take a coveted county title.
The results from the day’s competition are as follows:
U11 Boys’ Singles Champion – Ruairí McCullagh (Loughmacrory)
U11 Boys’ Singles Runner Up – Shea Munroe (Carrickmore)
U11 Boys’ Doubles Champs – Ruairí Kerr & Fionn McCrory (Drumduff)
U11 Boys’ Doubles Runner Up – Senan Munroe & Kevin Cuddy (Carrickmore)
U13 Boys’ Singles Champion – Eoin Donaghy (Loughmacrory)
U13 Boys’ Singles Runner Up – Daragh Phillips (Carrickmore)
U13 Boys’ Doubles Champ – Thomas Duff & Padraig McDonald (Loughmacrory)
U13 Boys’ Doubles Runner Up – Aidan Woods & Oran Keyes (Carrickmore)

U11 Girls’ Singles Champion – Ciara Gordon (Loughmacrory)
U11 Girls’ Doubles Champs – Aoife Kerr & Rebecca McGarvey (Drumduff)

A huge word of thanks to Master Mark McCullagh (Loughmacrory P.S.) for co-ordinating the competition and helping ensure the smooth running of this very successful event. Also our thanks to Patrick McGivern (CnmB) for presenting medals on the day.
The Tyrone champions in each category now advance to the Ulster Finals next month in Belfast. We wish them all well as worthy Tyrone ambassadors.
