Ulster One Wall Championship Tournament in Loughmacrory
Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th June 2014
commencing 10.30am on Saturday 28th June.
Almost 150 players, from seven counties in Ulster, will contest the grades at the 2014 Ulster One Wall Championship Tournament, with the action due to get underway from 10.30am on Saturday 28th June. The second ever Ulster One Wall Championship Tournament will go ahead in Loughmacrory’s fantastic new complex on the weekend of 28th/29th June 2014. The action promises to be very exciting in 2014 with the very best players from across the province of Ulster converging on Loughmacrory for the two day event, which will see players in action (all singles) from Under 12 up to Golden Masters (50+).
The event took place for the first time in 2013 at St. Ciaran’s College, Ballygawley, and in the two main events saw triumphs for Darragh Daly (Tyrone) and Lorraine Havern (Down). Daly overcame Armagh’s rising star, Conall McCavitt, in the final of the Mens Open and Havern defeated Aisling Reilly (Antrim) in the Ladies Open decider. The return to the One Wall game in Ireland for the first time since 2011 of Charly Shanks provides added excitement and the two Open fields look highly competitive while the hugely competitive juvenile grades will ensure a brilliant weekend of action.
The full list of players registered for the Event is listed on the pagelink below and final draws and schedules for all grades will be released by Monday 16th June 2014 (two weeks prior to the event).
All official updates can be checked on the Tournament page at:
• Again it should be noted that this Ulster One Wall Championships is being hosted by the Loughmacrory GAA Handball Club, which will also be Officially Launching the Community’s new £1million project on the day from 2pm-3.30pm. • All matches to the semi final stages will comprise 1 x 15 minute game (or first to 31 aces) while all semi finals and finals (planned for Sunday 29th June) will comprise 2 x 15 ace games (tie-break 11 aces). A full programme of events on the launch and scheduling of the weekend will be released on Monday 16th June 2014.
• Tea/Coffee and Sandwiches will be provided by Loughmacrory Club to all players (free) on the weekend with designated times on the day when these will be provided.
