We thank your club for nominating players for the recent series of trials for the Tyrone Academy and we thank the Club and the parents for providing the transport and patience whilst the trials were ongoing. The cooperation of parents and the Clubs are very much appreciated so again sincere thanks to you all.
There was a huge turnout at the trials and a massive amount of interest shown in being part of the Academy which is extremely encouraging for all concerned.
Unfortunately not everyone can be selected to become part of the Academy at this time and we understand that players will be extremely disappointed not to have been included.
If your Club player(s) is/are not included in the draft Academy panels, further opportunities will be afforded to all players to be included within the Academy teams in the coming weeks and months. We acknowledge that there would have been players who were injured, ill or unavailable etc. and that it would therefore not have been possible for the Academy team coaches to have had an opportunity to see everyone at the trials. With this in mind, Tyrone GAA Academy have as part of a new Academy initiative formed a network of scouts who are located throughout the county who will ensure that those who are currently not included have further opportunities to be seen and invited onto the Academy panels. We in the Tyrone Academy assure you of our commitment to see as much Club football as possible.
So this is not the end of the road for your players this year. We have no doubt that as a result of the scouting network that players who are not currently involved will be invited on to the panels and we commit to keeping those not included in Academy panels under regular review. We have built in flexibility within the panels for players to come into the panel. There are avenues to exit the panel as well.
Tyrone Coaching and Games development sub committee aim to develop players of all levels of ability and we are aware that players develop at different stages. We see our role as developing players to have the mentality and the ability to perform at the highest levels possible for their Club and County.
We thank your players for attending the trials and take this opportunity to wish your players and your Club well in the season ahead.
We would ask you to ensure that this message is conveyed to those players not currently on the Academy panel so that each player is fully aware of their current situation.
