Best wishes to the University of Ulster, Jordanstown and their strong Tyrone contingent as they take part in the Sigerson Cup this weekend at Queen’s in Belfast.
As well as established Senior players Matty Donnelly (Trillick), Ronan O’Neill (Omagh), Connor McAliskey (Clonoe) and Barry Tierney (Omagh), there are another 7 Tyrone men involved in the panel. Dean McNally (Kildress) picked up a McKenna Cup medal in 2013, while former and current U21 players Richard Donnelly (Trillick), Dwayne Quinn (Clonoe), Mark McReynolds (Edendork) are also included. Castlederg’s Caolan Harvey, who picked up an Ulster Minor Championship medal in 2012, is also involved along with Cathal McKenna of Augher and Greencastle’s Mark Carson.
There is also a a strong Tyrone influence in the backroom with Benny Hurl (Ardboe), Paul Rouse (Brackaville), Marty Loughran (Kildress) and the current Ardboe trainer Barry Dillon all playing important roles.
