The warm, sunny conditions in Eglish on Friday only helped to add to sense of occasion as the teams arrived at Connolly Park for the annual Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Tyrone Camogie Blitz 2016. Teams from Racarson P.S, Derrylatinee, St. Brigid’s Brocagh, Carrickmore and Roan, Eglish arrived to take part. Two sections were completed with 7-a-side games lasting seven minutes.
There was skill, determination and complete commitment evident from all teams and eventually, Roan, Rarcarson, Brocagh and Eglish emerged to contest the semi-finals. After a well matched encounter Eglish overcame the Carrickmore challenge and Racarson made it through to the final at the expense of Brocagh. A thrilling final ensued with Roan St. Patrick’s emerging winners. Thanks to our two referees Megan and Maeve, Leona from Eglish Camogie club and Roan St. Patrick’s P.S. principal, Seamus McCreesh, for once again hosting this excellent tournament.
