We are all diminished by the death, after a long and so well-lived life, of Ballymaguigan, Derry and Ulster’s Jim McKeever.
One of the finest and most graceful footballers ever to grace our GAA pitches, and also a remarkable educator, coach and administrator, Jim surpassed even all those phenomenal levels of ability and achievement with his, class, style, kindness and generosity as a person. He simply enriched everybody he met.
Tyrone GAA’s deepest sympathy goes to his family, friends, former students and players, and to the Gaels of Ballymaguigan and Derry.
‘I measc Naomh na hÉireann agus Laochra na nGael go raibh sé | May he be among the Saints of Ireland and the Heroes of the Gael.’
