The football club is running a 10k Race/ 5k Walk on Saturday 2nd October and the proceeds of the run will go towards both the club and the Niamh Louise Foundation.
Speaking about the event, Resource Centre Manager, Eimear Mc Kearney has said, ‘the charity is delighted to be working closely with Brackaville Owen Roes. Whilst the 10k will be a huge physical challenge for some of us it is an excellent opportunity for the whole community to raise awareness of suicide’. She continued, ‘Many of us do not realise that there is a direct link between our mental health and our physical health and the 10k run/ 5k walk is an ideal opportunity for us to exercise both and also to have some fun along the way!’
The 10k Race/ 5k Walk will take place on Saturday 2nd October. Registration closes at 12.30pm with the run/walk commencing at 1pm from the club grounds.
Anyone wishing to enter can register on the day, or for an e-entry e-mail brackaville10k@hotmail.co.uk
Of particular interest to Tyone Gaels’ might be the “Club Team” category, were clubs are encouraged to enter a team of four runners, in club jerseys. All four team members must complete 10K race with the fastest average time winning the category. Cash prizes for this and other categories.
