CARMEN 10K:
The fourth annual Carmen 10K is taking place on Saturday 9h March 2013 @ 11am at Carrickmore. The main sponsor of this event is “Kelly Coaches” for the second year. The committee would like to thank them for their continued support.
This event is run by the local Irish medium pre school committee “Naíscoil Cholm Cille”. It raises the funds necessary to keep the Irish pre-school operational in these difficult times. The unit needs up to £10,000 a year to run successfully.
Last years event was a great success. The Carmen 10K is a great opportunity to motivate and enhance your fitness levels. It will prepare also those athletes for the Omagh Half marathon on 30th March 2013. The event is open to everyone and we would appeal to all in the local community to participate. We look forward to having our course record challenged.
A 5K family fun run/walk is also available for the younger enthusiasts by donation. There will also be fun entertainment on the day donated kindly by local business “Party Town”. Competitors will gather at Carrickmore GFC. Entrants must be 15 years or above to run the 10K. Entry fee is £12. Pre-registration night, Friday 8th March at Carrickmore GFC 7.30 -9pm. You can collect your chip timing and running number ahead of the days race or on the day from 9 -10.30am.
There are over £600 in prize money, and technical T-shirts for the first 250 entrants. Refreshments will be available for all finishers.
