Castlederg St Eugene’s Official Opening of Club Rooms & Pitch
The official opening of the Marius McHugh Memorial Park Castlederg will be held this weekend 1st and 2nd of October a great weekend of activities is planned.
Saturday the 1st October will see the day starting at 12pm with a 5K fun run/walk, there will be a free funday to follow at the pitch for all the family from 2pm to 4pm. 4.15pm an underage hurling exhibition match will be provided by Shamrocks Club. 5.15pm will see the Under 12 Derg boys play in the John Lynch Memorial Cup against Thomas Davis Club ( Dublin ), 6.15pm the Under 12 girls will play Thomas Davis Club ( Dublin ), from 7.00pm the Marquee will come alive with past Scor acts – dancing, singing, recitation, also featuring local youth group ‘Poteen’.
Sunday the 2nd October the official opening, the day will start with Current All-Ireland Club Champions ‘Crossmaglen Rangers’ playing Ulster Champions ‘Donegal’ this will be a spectacular game of football, with 1/2 time exhibition game featuring athletes with special needs. 2.15pm Castlederg youth teams will play in a number of exhibition matches (Under 8, 10 & 14’s). 3.00pm the official opening ceremony will take place by Ciaran McLaughlin Tyrone County Chairman. 3.45pm exhibition game provided by Tyrone Under 15 Development Squad. The evening will come to a close with entertainment in the Marquee from 7pm provided by ‘The Logues’ and followed up at 9.30pm with a disco by ‘Terry McHugh’. A great weekends fun for all the family.
