The aim of this session is to help coaches plan coaching programmes for children for U.5’s involving the innovative Gaelic Start programme, U.8’s the Fundamentals and the Learn To Train phase i.e. U. 10’s& 12’s. The session will be an information session on what to coach children at these various age groups. Some of these sessions may contain practical activities.
Target Audience:
Underage club coaches and specifically the Under 12 Head Coach

This session will identify the Key Stages of the Long Term Player Development (LTPDP) for Under 12’s which involves the first three stages i.e….
U6 – Gaelic Start
U8 – FUNdamentals
U10/U12 – Learn to Train
The will be an information and possibly some practical tasks which will show club coaches specific games on what to coach children at these various age groups. We will also show how to modify these games to make it easier/harder for the participants.
Support will be provided to the Clubs in attendance to roll out the Gaelic Start programme over the winter. All Clubs are encouraged to ensure that they are represented.
