A Night of Nostalgia, Song and Dance as the Commercial Ballroom reopens on 5th December
Do you recall the good old days of the 60’s and 70’s!! -50 years ago this December the iconic “Commercial Ballroom” in Ann Street Dungannon first opened its doors.
The hall of dreams, brainchild of local entrepreneur extraordinaire PG McQuaid, hosted international stars such as the Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison, Hank Locklin, Englebert Humperdink, Sandie Shaw, Lulu, Amen Corner and the Love Affair to name a few. Local showband legends Brendan Boyer and the Royal, Dickie Rock and Joe Dolan also graced the Commercial Ballroom, names that conjure up a bygone era of a time when the showbands reigned supreme.
Dungannon Thomas Clarke GFC are giving you all the chance to relive those magic moments when for one night only “The Commercial” comes alive again on 5th December in Dungannon Youth Club with a night of cabaret, dancing and showband disco. The brainchild of former Clarkes’ goalie and renowned drummer Vinnie O’Donnell, it is a night not to be missed as again the Clarkes serve up top drawer entertainment. So to all who maybe met their partner, fell in love, or just went to hear great music this is your chance to relive those memories and remember “Save the Last Dance for Me” because “It’s Now or Never!”
