Tyrone head into 2015 without another multiple All Ireland winning player with Conor Gormley joining Stephen O’Neill and Martin Penrose in retirement.
Coming into the Tyrone Senior Panel for the 00/01 National League, Conor made his Tyrone debut in a 0-19 to 2-10 win over Dublin in Parnell Park in October 2000. Claiming an Ulster Championship medal and an All Ireland U21 title in his debut season, Conor went on to be one of the lynchpins in the Tyrone defence for the next 14 seasons and one of the top defenders in the Country. Winning 3 All Ireland titles in 2003, 2005 and 2008 Conor would claim All Stars in each of those years for his performances. He also won 2 National League titles in 2002 & 2003 as well as 5 Ulster titles in 2001 , 2003, 2007, 2009 and 2010.
His 3 championship appearances in 2014 saw him overtake Brian Dooher as the record holder for Senior Championship games played for Tyrone on 75 games and played an astounding 180 times in total for the Senior Footballers.
