Scór Sinsear County Final
Sunday 17th February 2013
St Joseph’s Hall, Omagh at 3.00 pm
All roads will lead to St Joseph’s Hall, Omagh on Sunday 17th February for the Tyrone county finals of Scór Sinsear. Fifteen clubs will compete to claim eight county titles. The standard at this adult level was extremely high with clubs having already achieved a great deal by getting to the final. Competing clubs come from all parts of the county ranging from Stewartstown to Aghyaran. Some of the clubs are the ‘old hands’ of Scór while others are new to Scór or just recently returned. Nevertheless the final will provide all of the best cultural talent available in Tyrone this year. There is a strong possibility that the winners on Sunday will go on to achieve Ulster, and even All Ireland success such is the standard in Tyrone. Hopefully some of the clubs will then go on and improve on the National success of Errigal Ciaran in Scór Sinsear in last year’s events. Coiste Cultúir agus Teanga wish all competitors luck in the finals and encourage everyone to come and enjoy a talent filled show which suits all the family. The final starts at 3:00pm sharp and entrance price is only £6 while under 16s get free admission.
The finals this year will be hosted by the Taite Riabhach, Naomh Pádraig club. This is a first venture of this kind for the Tattyreagh club. There is no doubt they will leave no stone unturned in preparing the excellent facilities available at St Joseph’s Parochial Hall in Omagh for the finals.
Following the Tyrone Finals the successful clubs will then embark on the challenge of succeeding in the Ulster Semi Finals to be held in the Community Hall in Derrygonnelly, Co Fermanagh on Saturday 9th March at 7.00 pm. Successful clubs here will have a month’s hard work practising for this year’s Ulster final which is to be held on Saturday 6th April at ‘The Venue’ in Derry City. This is an exciting new venue in Derry designed and built to host all of the events in Derry for ‘The Year of Culture’. The venue has a capacity for an audience of 2000 people
This will be the final stepping stone a place in the All Ireland Final which, for a change, will be held also in the ‘The Venue’ in Derry City on Saturday 27th April 2013 beginning at 3.00 pm.
