Craic in The Brack Festival 2013
The 2013 Craic in the Brack Festival will run from 22nd-30th June at Daniel O’Connell Park in Aughabrack, Co. Tyrone (halfway between the villages of Dunamanagh and Plumbridge). The events begin on Saturday 22nd June and will run for an eight day period culminating in a Family Fun Day on Sunday 30th June. Music will be provided on Sunday 23rd June by “The Whistling Donkeys”, on Saturday 29th June by “The Logues” and finally on Sunday 30th June by “Hype”.
In between times current sensation Derek Ryan will play in the Marquee on Thursday 27th June whilst patrons can also look forward to American Style Wrestling on Monday 24th June and Monster Bingo on Wednesday 26th June. Across the eight days there will be plenty to do for people of all age groups.
The events will start on Saturday 22nd June with a Sponsored Walk at 2pm. It will see participants make their way from the football pitch in Aughabrack to the “Moat” at the top of Mullaghclogher mountain and back again. Any Under-14s wishing to take part must be accompanied by an adult. If anyone wishes to obtain further information they are asked to contact Eimear O’Kane who will be happy to assist.
Saturday 22nd June will also feature the “Loughash Dash” 10k Road Run around the scenic Loughash, nestled amidst the stunning backdrop of the Sperrin mountains.
The event will begin at Daniel O’Connell Park. Runners will proceed down Lisnaragh Road in the direction of Dunamanagh. They will turn right at Bohil’s Bar onto Aghafad Road and make their way past Loughash Primary School before turning left onto Loughash Road.
The runners will continue to the end of the Loughash Road where it rejoins Lisnaragh Road and the race will finish with competitors running in the direction of Plumbridge until they return to the starting point at Daniel O’Connell Park.
Registration for the Run will take place from 2.30pm onwards with the race getting underway at 3pm. Entry costs £10 for adults and £5 for Under-18s. There are fantastic prizes available for those who clock the fastest times.
