Dan McCaffrey RIP
Dan McCaffrey RIP

Coiste Contae Thir Eoghain extends its deepest sympathies to the McCaffrey family on the death of Dan, who was part of the breakthrough Tyrone side that claimed back to back All-Ireland Minor titles for the county in 1947 and 1948.
A former player for Omagh St Enda’s, Dan enjoyed success at club as well as County level and was a member of the St Enda’s side that claimed the O’Neill Cup in 1948. A superb all round sportsman, Dan went on to play for the County Senior team before changing codes and going on to represent several clubs in the Irish League and League of Ireland.
Dan coached and managed several sides in both sports and also coached the Tyrone Ladies senior and minor football squads in the early nineties. He continued to be a well known figure around Healy Park and he will be missed by Omagh and Tyrone gaels.
