“Delivering High Level Coaching for Underage Players in Tyrone”

A special workshop for those who coach underage footballers in Tyrone takes place in Galbally GAA Centre on Saturday 3rd March commencing at 9:10am with the final session concluding at 1:10pm.
Fergal Mc Cann Tyrone Senior Team Coach will lead a group of specialist coaches on the day. Paddy Tally trainer to the 2003 All Ireland champions as well as Joe Mc Mahon and former player Ciaran Gourley will demonstrate actual coaching sessions with panels of underage players. Roger Keenan from Gortin, well known throughout the county for his coaching expertise will be in attendance to pass on his expertise on underage coaching.
Mary Loughran who is the physio to the Tyrone Minor Team will present a future plan for raising the standard of underage football in Tyrone and addressing the physical challenges of our talented underage players.
Tyrone inter county referee Michael Hughes will address the issue of personal fouls in the game and how referees and coaches can work effectively together.
Delivering the topical session on Fundamentals and developing the “Core” for underage is Gerard O’Connor who is Director of Coaching in Dublin.
All workshops will practically demonstrate the development of the key skills of the game with actual groups of underage players drawn from Tyrone clubs. Coaches will have the opportunity to attend different skill development activities which are designed to enable coaches transfer skill development activities directly into their club coaching programmes.

10:10 – 10:55am Developing the skills of ball retention for underage players

Session Two
11.00 – 11:45am Developing the skill of kick passing
11.00 – 11:45am Decision making on the ball
 
Session Three
11:50 – 12:35pm Core development for underage players
11:50 – 12:35pm Developing the FUNdamental Skills of Gaelic Football

Session Four
12:40pm – 1:10pm Rules, Respect, Recruitment
 
1:15pm                   Lunch

Course fee is £15 pp or £10 pp if more than one coach from the Club attending.  A dvd of all sessions on the day will be provided for each coach in attendance who has pre registered.
