The penultimate link to the 2003 All Ireland winning Tyrone side has now gone with Killyclogher’s Dermot Carlin retiring from the Tyrone senior panel.
A MacRory Cup winner with Omagh CBS & All Ireland Minor winner in 2001 and the 2002 County Minor captain, Dermot first joined up with the Senior squad in 2003 and made his debut in a 0-12 to 0-11 defeat against Dublin in Parnell Park in the Allianz League with his Championship debut coming the same year in the drawn Ulster Senior Championship Final v Down. He went on to pocket National League, Ulster Championship and All Ireland Championship medals in 2003 and starred in his club’s only Senior Championship  success to cap an extraordinary year. He also narrowly missed on an All Ireland U21 medal after an All Ireland Final defeat to Dublin.
He later went on to collect a further All Ireland Medal in 2008 after missing out on the 2005 success having opted out of that campaign to travel and added 3 further Ulster Senior medals in 2007, 2009 and 2010.
In total, Dermot made 95 Inter-County appearances, including 29 in the Championship, scoring 0-10.
Honours:
2 x All Ireland Senior Football Championships (2003, 2008)
1 x Allianz Football League (2003)
4 x Ulster Senior Football Championships (2003, 2007, 2009, 2010)
2 x Ulster U21 Football Championships (2002,2003)
