The Tyrone ladies are still searching for a first haul of national league points after they suffered a big loss to Galway in round three of the Tesco Homegrown national league. Despite a battling display and a great early goal from Gemma Begley, Tyrone seemed off the pace again and even the return of Cathy Donnelly couldn’t spark a revival in their fortunes and they now face relegation in the face once again with games against Dublin. Cork and Mayo to come, all away from home.
It was once again a tough day at the office for Tyrone who again lacked finishing and at times looked exposed around the middle and along the full back line against a Galway side that were clinical throughout. Edel Concannon hit 2-4 for the home side at Tuam as they ran out 4-15 to 1-6, Tyrone just hitting one second half point. Plenty of food for thought for the O’Neill county side who must refocus themselves for a trip to Mayo this week.
