The fifth annual ‘Donaghmore5’ Five Mile Road Race, Fun Run and Walk will take place on Thursday 27th August. Sponsored by Beam Creative Network and The Torrent Pharmacy the event is also supported by Mid-Ulster Council.
Building on the success of previous years, organisers The Torrent Complex have introduced chipped timing and the course has been officially measured for complete accuracy on both times and course distance. The ‘Donaghmore 5’ is a scenic run which is suitable for both recreational and competitive runners. With a hill rise at the start of the race, the course is predominantly flat with a steady climb to finish just outside The Torrent Complex. Last year’s winner Paul Barbour clocked an impressive 26:36 to set the race record. Cash prizes are on offered for male open and female open races, as well as 50+ and U18 age groups.
The fun run and walk is always well supported by the local community and in addition this year there will be a family fun evening at The Torrent Complex with lots of family entertainment, as well as complimentary refreshments following the run.
Participants are encouraged to sign up early with the first 120 entrants guaranteed a commemorative T-Shirt. Register online now at: www.athleticsni.org/Fixtures/Donaghmore-5 or go along to the Pre Entry evening at The Torrent Complex on Thursday 20th August between 7pm-9pm
