It seems like yesterday but it’s twenty-one years today since Club Tyrone was formally launched in The Greenvale Hotel, Cookstown, on 4 July 2001.
Essentially a re-branding of the very successful 1995-2001 Millennium Initiative, from the start Club Tyrone attracted the support from Gaelic Tyrone that has made it the phenomenon it has become.
In those twenty-one years our wonderful Club Tyrone people have contributed nearly £4.5m to the Tyrone Gaelic cause.
Garvaghey has been scoped, planned, built and more-or-less paid for.
And on some of the main Football fields of play alone, our County teams in that time have won 11 All-Ireland (4 x Senior, 4 x Minor and 3 x Under 21/20) and 24 Ulster (8 each at Senior, Minor and Under 21/20) titles.
It’s now up to us all to make the next twenty-one years even better!
