With no exaggeration, the world is cruelly diminished by the death of Fr PJ Gormley, one of that extraordinary band of Irish people who turned away from everything in western life to devote their lives to teeming thousands elsewhere who had nothing. A very special Senior, Intermediate and Junior Championship winner with Augher St Macartans, Fr PJ inspired ceaselessly throughout his life, in Tyrone, in the SMA community, and in Zambia.

Our deepest sympathy goes to Fr PJ’s family, to the SMA community, to his brother priests, to his parishioners in Zambia, to his so many friends in so many places, and to the Gaels of Augher.
