Gaeltacht Bursaries were presented to more than 100 children and young people at an award ceremony at Tír Eoghain GAA Centre at Garvaghey.
The young people came from 37 of the clubs in the county and from 15 post primary schools across the county. Gaeltacht colleges in Rann na Feirste, Loch an Iúir, Machaire Rabhartaigh and Bún an Inbhír will be hosting the children in courses lasting from 1 week to three weeks with lessons in our Irish Culture and Heritage. This is the most productive way for those learning the language to hone their skills in places where the everyday language is Irish.
This process is part of Tyrone’s exercise in promoting the learning of the Irish language and are willing to put financial resources into its promotion.
