Tyrone’s Garvaghey Centre was delighted and honoured to host a unique and spectacular event last weekend. The Ballygawley Local Committee of Cancer Research UK chose Garvaghey as the venue for its first-ever Christmas Tree Festival. Running from Friday to Sunday and built round a veritable indoor forest of over 50 Christmas trees, the Festival attracted well over 1,500 people and raised more than £6,200 for Cancer Research UK. We’re indebted to everyone who delivered such a worthwhile event for the rest of us. ‘Ar scath a cheile a mhaireann na daoine … people live in one another’s shelter.’
