Following the recent Positive Testing from one of our Clubs in Tyrone for the COVID-19 virus since last weekend, resulting in his Club suspending all activities on becoming aware of the situation. Similarly the Club which played in a an official fixture against this player’s Club also decided to suspend its activities. Since then, players and officials and their families of both Clubs have been provided with COVID-19 virus tests, and the outcomes are awaited.
It is timely to remind all members of all our Clubs as to the importance of adhering to all of the guidelines from Government sources, the Health Authorities and this Association, that have been circulated during the past few months.
Clubs must act upon and implement the guidelines, directives and advice that is being provided, even though it may be very difficult to do so, at times.
Special attention is again drawn to the directive that changing rooms should not be open yet, and that there should be No Spectators in attendance at games (other than a parent / guardian who is transporting a youth player).
Failure to comply fully with the guidelines issued will result in the continued spreading of the infection, and a possible reversion to another shutdown of GAA activities.
