Health and Wellbeing Meeting Thursday 19th November

By tyronepro Wed 18th Nov

An information evening for Tyrone health and wellbeing officers will take place at Garvaghey on Thursday evening (Nov 19).
A large number of agencies will be on hand to offer information and advice on a wide range of issues.
This is the second officer event organised by the Tyrone GAA Health and Wellbeing Committee, and all clubs are urged to ensure they are represented.
The committee are working to support the club health and wellbeing officers and clubs put in place programmes and practices that will help improve the health and wellbeing of their members and wider community.
Although officers have been in place for less than a year, some excellent programmes and initiatives have been put in place, and some club offices will be sharing their knowledge and learning on the evening.
All GAA clubs are required to have a health and wellbeing officer in place by their next AGMs. It is the role of the county subcommittee to support them with their functions.
Specialist representatives from a number of agencies will be in attendance, and available to speak to officers about services and programmes they provide.
It is hoped this will help officers get a better understanding of the wealth of organisations and services who are available and who want to work with them and their clubs.
Club health and wellbeing officers are asked to register their attendance for the evening with hwb@tyronegaa.ie.
The event gets under way at 7.30 pm on Thursday November 19.
