Health and Wellbeing offer BP checks on County Final Day

Cumann Luthchleas Gael Tir Eoghain Promote Positive Health & Well Being in our local clubs and communities. The health and well being sub committee also advise local clubs of key agencies and organisation who are available for support and advice when required.
As part of this remit, 4th year Medical Students From QUB attended the County Final offering BP checks. The students, part of the Students Working Overseas Trust (SWOT), travel to Africa to do Charity work as part of their elective and they raised approx £300 from donations on the day.
Over 100 checks took place, mainly elderly gentlemen (65+) and men in their 30s and 40s, but also a small number of ladies and children, teens and young adults. There were a number of individuals who had high BP levels and were encouraged to make an appointment to see their GP. A health information stand was also available everyone who got their BP was provided with health information to take away. Whilst others passing just took some health information with them.
