The Health and Wellbeing of GAA members and, equally importantly, the wider community, is a key focus for the Association, and is particularly important due to the pressures of modern society.
Since forming in 2013, Tyrone Health and Wellbeing Committee has undertaken many initiatives to help promote positive health and wellbeing, and Tyrone clubs are now doing likewise.
On Thursday Nov 8th at 7pm Healthy club officers are invited to Tyrone’s ‘Share and Learn’ event in Tyrone GAA Centre Garvaghey.
A number of organisations will be present on the evening, providing information and advice on various health and wellbeing issues, including drugs and alcohol, mental health, benefits advice, bank scam support and cancer information, to name but a few.
A number of Tyrone clubs participating in the GAA Healthy Club programme will be sharing their experiences and provide useful tips and information from the health and wellbeing initiatives they have worked on.
“Our network events are a key focus of the yearly action plan from the county Health and Wellbeing committee and we invite every available club officer to come along on the night,” said Fiona Teague, chair of the Tyrone Health and Wellbeing Committee.
“Previous officer evenings have proved successful and our clubs asked for them to continue. We promise they will leave having learnt something new that they can take back to their clubs and communities” “Nothing Beats Being There”
