Fingal 0-20 Tyrone 1-21
Tyrone needed extra-time to repeat their 2014 final win over Fingal in Swords. Fingal made a flying start, with Shane O’Brien and Cillian O’Flynn to the fore and although Casey and Mulgrew brought Tyrone back into it, the wind-assisted home side went on to lead by 0-13 to 0-6 at the end of the half, helped by scores from John Matthew Sheridan and Eoghan O’Connor. Tyrone worked their way back into the game after the restart, with Mulgrew firing in what would prove to be the only goal and Conor Grogan making his presence felt.
Sheridan and Cillian O’Flynn kept Fingal ahead going into the closing stages, but four without reply for Tyrone from Casey (two), Grogan and Mulgrew edged them ahead until Sheridan’s seventh point made it 1-15 to 0-18 at full-time. Paul McAllister and Sheridan moved Fingal in front in the extra 20 minutes, but Casey and Gerard Gilmore ensured that Tyrone changed ends again level at 1-17 to 0-20. Casey, Gilmore, Grogan and Mulgrew were all on target in the last ten minutes, as Tyrone took charge to keep their title defence going.
