Tyrone ladies will be focused now on the all Ireland qualifiers after they suffered a 3-19 to 1-7 loss at the hands of Donegal in the TG4 Ulster semi-final at Cavan. Tyrone had been in the game until a fortunate Donegal penalty turned the game in their favour and once they pulled clear their was no way back.
By the break Donegal had a 1-7 to 0-5 lead Gearldine McLaughlins goal proving vital while Tyrone had several chances, the best of those from Cathy Donnelly who drilled the ball inches wide. Gemma Begley kept Tyrone in the tie but when Barrett found the net from the penalty Tyrone were under the gosh for long periods, their defence were stretched while up front live was difficult too as at times Donegal had as many as eleven players behind the ball.
A disappointing day for Tyrone who will await the qualifying draw with interest, they have plenty of positives to take from this tie but they will know that they have to be more clinical and effctive up front.
