Grainne Rafferty hit 1-7 to help Cill Iseal through to the semi-final of the Time Venue Tyrone Ladies senior football championship. The corner forwards contribution proved crucial against a Strabane side spearheaded by Lorraine Conwell who hit 4-2 at Fintona in a very entertaining tie. Both sides had chances and the two goalkeepers were called into action several times but in the end Cill Iseal returned a tally of 1-17 to the Sigersons 4-6. Just a point between the sides after Sigersons came back from five down going into the final quarter.
Catriona Mc Gahan and Lisa Marie Skeffington were also among the points as Cill Iseal led by just a single point at the break, they increased that tally and looked on course to a comfortable win before a spirited comeback. It proved too little too late though.
The Junior B final meanwhile will be between East and North Tyrone as Urney face Coalisland. The Fianna and Pomeroy served up an extra time thriller at Rock with Coalisland edging the win 3-18 to 4-12. Urney claimed an 8-8 to 3-10 win over Owen Roes in a derby semi-final.
The Intermediate championships remaining quarter finals on Tuesday as Donaghmore play Loughmacrory while on Thursday Carrickmore play Glenelly in the senior football quarter final as the Errigal Cappagh tie is next week.
