Lark In The Páirc 2012
All-Ireland winning footballers Colm Cavanagh, Sean Cavanagh and Philip Jordan were among those in attendance at the official launch of Moy’s eagerly awaited Lark in the Páirc weekend, which takes place from Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th September 2012.
Excitement continues to mount on the Tyrone-Armagh border as the organisers of this terrific weekend of festivities, which attracted large crowds last year, put the finishing touches to their preparations. A large marquee will once again be erected at the Moy GAA grounds for a programme of events that caters for people of all ages.
This year’s Lark in the Páirc will open with a pre All-Ireland Final GAA Chat Night on Thursday 6th September at 8.30pm. This proved to be a very enjoyable affair in 2011 and, with four more big names lined-up to field questions on a range of topics, it sure to be another night of good GAA discussion and banter. Two All-Ireland football final tickets will also be up for grabs on the night. Ticket admission £10.
The hugely popular dating show, Take Me Out, will be held on Friday 7th September at 8.00pm. This event, presented by Cool FM’s Connor Phillips, attracted several hundred people to the Moy GAA ground last year. Over thirty attractive young ladies and a number of lucky men will take to the specially erected podium on the night. A disco will take place after the main show. Ticket admission £20.
Our club’s Steak Night and Dance, which proved extremely popular with club members and friends in 2011, will take place in the marquee on Saturday 8th September at 7.30pm. Following the serving of food and light entertainment, there will be live music and dancing to well known band ‘The Do Rightlys’. Only a limited number of tickets are now remaining for this event. Ticket admission £20.
Then, in a change to last year’s programme, Lark in the Páirc 2012 will be brought to a close with a children’s Fun Day & BBQ at Páirc Thír na nÓg on Sunday 9th September, starting at 12 noon. There will be an Olympic Games theme to this Fun Day, which will also take in our big Duckfast Derby on the nearby river Blackwater. There will be free entry to the Fun Day, while it will cost just £10 to buy a duck for the big money race.
To book your tickets now and obtain further information on any of the aforementioned events, please contact a member of the club committee or any of the Lark in the Páirc organisers.
