Not just Gaelic Tyrone, but Gaelic communities everywhere, and Ireland overall, are diminished by the death of the inspirational Sean McCague.
A man who volunteered to huge effect in every GAA role possible – playing, managing, refereeing, administering, supporting – , and who did so with class and style at all levels, from Club to the Presidency, Sean provided the best of leadership for us all, whilst never pursuing personal profile.
A man who knew the way, showed the way, went the way, and made a difference.
Our deepest sympathy goes to Bernie, Paula, Nuala, Martha, Freda and Emma, to Sean’s entire family circle and so many friends, and to the Gaels of Scotstown and Monaghan.
I measc Naomh na hÉireann agus Laochra na nGael go raibh sé | May he be among the Saints of Ireland and the Heroes of the Gael.’
