Gaelic Tyrone is deeply saddened by the death, after a cruel illness, of Gerry Donnelly.
A key member of one of Tyrone’s most vibrant GAA families, Gerry stood out as one of our most popular and most decorated Club players, among much else a five-time O’Neill Cup Champion and a six-time All-County Division I League winner.
But Gerry also left us another very special, and very unique legacy. As the project researcher (long before there was web or digital availability of material) working side-by-side with Joe Martin, Gerry’s contribution to the collation of Tyrone’s published GAA history is simply unmatched.
‘Molann an obair an fear | The work praises the man.’
Our deepest sympathy goes to Regina, Rory, Barry, and Fergal, to his wider family circle, to his so many friends and colleagues, and to the Gaels of Trillick.
‘Gura móide Teaghlach na Glóire a anam | May the Family of Glory be enriched by his soul.’
