LIVE TO PLAY AT DRUMRAGH

On Tuesday 26th April Drumragh Sarsfields GAC Tir Eoghain are hosting an important information evening on the issue of Road Safety.
The club is promoting the GAA’s ‘Live to Play’ initiative and an invite is being extended to all clubs in Tyrone.
The evening will host a number of key agencies who are involved in road safety including the NI Ambulance service, NI Fire Service and PSNI Traffic Branch.
Geraldine McLaughlin, Drumragh Sarsfields Health and Wellbeing Officer, said: “We are a GAA club with over 200 young members and also have a responsibility to educate on road safety.
“We are delighted to be hosting this event at Clanabogan Park, and to deliver the message to all road users – drivers, passengers and pedestrians – all of whom must play their part in keeping us safe on our roads. We are encouraging as many people as possible to come along on.
“As part of the programme we will have a special key note speaker who will provide details of their own experience. We really want our young people to live and play”
The initiative is supported by the Tir Eoghain County Health and Wellbeing Committee as well as the emergency services. ‘Live to Play’, Ulster GAA’s Road Safety programme, aims to raise awareness and educate members on how best to stay safe on the roads.
The programme is delivered in partnership with the county executive and clubs, with a particular focus on educating young people about road safety as it is they who are most likely to be involved in a traffic collision.
The campaign has enabled Ulster GAA to promote the message in Schools and Clubs and at major Ulster Championship Football and Hurling fixtures.
The Drumragh ‘Live to Play’ event begins at 7.30pm on Tuesday 26 April at Clanabogan Park.
