The line-up for the 2014 Tyrone Attic Stairs Senior Singles Championship Quarter Finals is now known with the action in those matches scheduled for this coming Wednesday and Thursday evening. There are certainly some enticing ties in store with recently crowned Premier League champion, Shane O’Neill taking on Carrickmore’s Ryan Daly in Loughmacrory and that tie is followed by an intriguing tussle involving recent Premier League finalist, Johnny Woods and last year’s beaten championship finalist, Darragh Daly, both places chasing a first Hugh Duff Memorial Cup win. Newly crowned US National 19 & Under champion, Gabhain McCrystal, had a tough tie break win over Carrickmore’s Gary McCrory on Monday evening and now faces Patrick McCrory in a last eight tie in Beragh with Caolan Daly facing wither Conor McEdluff or Niall Kerr in that last of the quarter final action. Those players who lost out in round 1 and in Wednesday’s quarter-finals will then go into the Senior B Singles Championship, which commences on Thursday evening.
The Tyrone Junior Singles Championship Quarter Finals are schedule for Beragh and Carrickmore from 7.30pm on Tuesday evening and the first of the Juvenile A Championship matches will take place in Beragh at 8.30pm with the Boys Under 14 Singles, undoubtedly proving to be the most competitive grade in the juvenile championships with all four players involved having finished all level in the league at the top of the table.
