On Saturday 8th June leaders from each of the eight Michaela Girls Summer Camps gathered in Kelly’s Inn, Tyrone to participate in two certified training  sessions in preparation for the Camps.
Survival-linX delivered a high quality and professional programme of First Aid training to the Camp leaders. Members of Naomh Treasa Camogie Club, Dungannon assisted them in their delivery. The course was informative and interactive, equipping the leaders with important skills.
On the same day, Bernie Fox and Brendan Harpur from the Ulster GAA provided a tailored programme of training in Child Protection and Safeguarding for the summer camp Children’s Officers. This course was highly informative and beneficial for all the leaders.
On behalf of Michaela Foundation, Úna Kelly thanked both Survival-linX and the Ulster GAA not only for their provision of training but for their continued support. She stated that both groups delivered serious and important material with a sprinkle of fun. It was clear that all those who participated in the sessions learned much whilst thoroughly enjoying themselves.
This summer there will be Michaela Girls Summer Camps in eight counties; Armagh, Derry, Donegal, Down, Dublin, Fermanagh, Monaghan and Tyrone. For further information go to www.themichaelafoundation.com
