MOORTOWN MATRIMONIAL MAYHEM
In order to help fund on-going development work at our state of the art new complex on Aneeter Road, we have planned a Mock Wedding fundraiser on Saturday 18th May in the Glenavon Hotel, Cookstown.
The event will be pretty similar to a ‘Real Wedding’ in that we will have four parts to the evening’s proceedings, all of which will be effortlessly co-ordinated by our compere, MLA Barry Mc Elduff
THE CEREMONY – will be at 7pm in the Tyrone suite, celebrated by a very special “Priest” and “Altar Boy”. Following the successful Mrs Brown show in 2012, we have again enlisted the help of local characters to play the roles of the wedding party and clergy. This short play is not to be missed.
THE SPEECHES – following the ceremony, we will have speeches from some of the main characters and guests. As always the speeches are not for the faint hearted!
THE MEAL- Enjoy the culinary delights on offer from the Glenavon’s famous kitchen.
THE ENTERTAINMENT – provided by Paul Cummings & his band, followed by a late Disco by Marty Lo.
In every other aspect, the night will be nothing like a Real Wedding. So while we can’t promise any “Holy matrimony” we certainly guarantee you a night’s craic and mayhem!!
On the night we will also have a fantastic range of prizes up for grabs, including:

To date, we have invested approximately £1 million in our new facilities and we have relied heavily on the support of the local community to do this. We have also received assistance from our loyal Club Moortown members and Sport NI. We must continue to ask for financial assistance which will enable us to provide the facilities which our club requires to ensure that it is fit for purpose and so that it can meet the needs of the community.
