Legendary Commentator Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh to be Special Guest at Eglish Banquet & Presentation Night
On Saturday 19th February 2011 Eglish St. Patrick’s Gaelic Football and Camogie Clubs are holding a banquet and presentation night in their club’s Sports Hall with all proceeds for the development of the new Pairc Chormaic.
On this special night Eglish are delighted to welcome legendary GAA commentator Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh. Recently retired in 2010 after sixty years commentating, Micheál is still dedicating his time to the GAA speaking to various groups at events and functions. Micheál has a genuine love and passion for Gaelic Games and Eglish look forward to welcoming their guest speaker.
2010 was a very successful year for the Eglish clubs. The Senior football team bounced back after being relegated in 2009 and won the Division Two League title. The Reserve football team had double success winning the Division Two League and Championship and the Under 21 football team were also awarded the Tyrone Championship title. The ladies in Eglish were not to be outdone by the men and they also had a success winning their Tyrone Senior Camogie Championship.
All team’s successes will be celebrated at the banquet and presentation night. The evening begins with the meal being served at 8.00pm, followed by presentations and speeches with dancing till late to music by local DJ Pete McCann, aka The Prince
