The Ulster Final of Scór Sinsear was held in St Cecelia’s College, Derry on last Saturday night, 6 th April. Tyrone were represented in the finals by Omagh St Enda’s in Rince Foirne and Ballad Group, by Killyclogher St Mary’s in Novelty Act and Sett Dance. The third club was Trillick St Macartan’s who took part in the quiz competition.
All of the clubs and participants performed excellently in their respective competitions. Each showed their clubs and Tyrone in a truly competitive spirit. Omagh St Enda’s, in Ceilí Dance were to be Tyrone’s only Ulster Champions on the night. The competition was stiff and all the others could only be described as ‘whiskers’ away from Ulster titles on the night.
Omagh St Enda’s will now go forward to the All Ireland Finals also to be held in Derry on 27 th April at the Venue. This is a specially built facility, to seat 2,500 people, which will be host to all of the City of Culture events in 2013. Omagh will hope to add to the big number of national dance titles they already hold in Ceilí dance competition. All of the county offers them full support in this venture and thus add to the number of National titles held by Tyrone.
Should any person wish to go along to the ‘Venue’ at the end of April tickets can be ordered through the Secretary of the Culture and Language sub-committee or through your own club secretary.
Tickets should be ordered by Thursday night (11th April).
