Scór Sinsir County Finals – Sunday 10th March 2024 • St Joseph’s Hall, Omagh at 4.00 pm

The Scór Sinsir County Finals are to be held in St Joseph’s Hall in Omagh beginning, with the popular Tráth na gCeistanna – Quiz – at 4.00 pm. The quiz will have an Irish dimension with both the questions and answers having an Irish theme. There will be one question in each round in the Irish language with the answer to be given in the Irish Language.  The winner on the day will go on to represent Tír Eoghain in the Ulster Final to be held on 20th April at a venue to be confirmed at a later date.

Then at 5.00 pm the Scór competitions will begin with the popular Rince Foirne opening the proceedings. From here on, due to difficulties in arranging adjudicators and juggling with Mother’s Day celebrations, the running order will vary slightly from the normal format. Nevertheless, patrons will be guaranteed a super evening’s entertainment. Following on from the Covid pandemic, Scór Sinsir in Tír Eoghain has begun a revival process and are highly encouraged by the response received to date. Whereas the response at the Kildress was not what was expected the second semi-final in The Patrician Hall certainly made up for the first night with a full programme of all disciplines coupled with a super night’s entertainment for all who were fortunate  to be in attendance. Going forward the expectations for the future of Scór Sinsir in Tír Eoghain is very optimistic that Scór, as it was known in the past, is on the way back so give the final your support on Sunday evening in the excellent facilities of St Joseph’s Hall in Omagh. There have been  16 of our clubs involved in this year’s Scór and congratulations must be given to all of these clubs as they have given sincere and genuine efforts to producing their best for these competitions. There will also be in the region of 10 other clubs taking part in the Quiz element of the day’s proceedings.  That will mean there will be at least half of our clubs having taken part in the competition this year.

Our hosts for the evening will be the Tattyreagh St Patrick’s GAC who have never been know to ‘half do’ anything they undertake. We wish the ‘Tatts’ every success in this venture on Sunday next.

Come along for a very entertaining event celebrating the very best of our culture, song, dance, music and drama in excellent surroundings.

Following on from the Tír Eoghain Final the winners on the day will proceed to the  Ulster Semi Finals in Killeavey competing against competitors from the clubs of Counties Armagh, Derry and Down. The conclusion of the Ulster side of the competition will be with the Ulster Finals on 20th April. The venue is still to be confirmed.

The All Ireland Final is to be held in the INEC in Killarney on 11th May 2024 at 3.00 pm.
