GAA Comedy Gold from Grimes & McKee comes to Moy!
St Mungo’s Luganulk may have the worst Gaelic Football team in Ireland but their new comedy Show is proving to be a runaway success and will visit Moy on Friday February 20.
Without a win in six and a half years, the small-town club is rooted to the bottom of Division 4 and struggling to field a team. However, Barry Maguire returns home from the big city and gets a colourful bunch together and somehow their fortunes are transformed and St Mungo’s reach an All Ireland Final.
Popular duo Grimes & McKee have turned to the GAA for their latest comic adventure. ‘It’s a true-ish story’, says Conor Grimes. ‘This is a story with jokes and characters that every GAA club will identify with’.
Under-age Coaches, ‘Davy the Drip’ who looks after the dressing-rooms and Committee members are just some of the characters that have had audiences across Ulster laughing right to the end.
The Show has packed out clubs across Ulster since it opened in Donaghmore on October 4 and local celebrities have lined up to praise St Mungo’s.
’10 out of 10’ was the verdict of UTV weatherman Frank Mitchell, while former Antrim captain Anto Finnegan said the Show ‘exceeded my expectations. You see a lot of characters you will relate to from your own club’.
