At a meeting of Coiste Chontae Thír Eoghain this evening, Club delegates voted in favour of reverting our internal age grades for youth competitions to Under 12, Under 14, Under 16, Under 18 etc. The Tyrone Competitions Control Committee will implement this change immediately and can confirm that 2023 youth competitions will be played at even-number age grades.
Further to this, it was agreed that decoupling within Tyrone will take place at age 17. This means that players in their last year of Minor football (i.e. players aged 18) will also be able to play for their Club’s adult teams – subject to meeting the criteria set down by Ard Chomhairle.
Tyrone CCC will revise their proposed fixture plan and contact Clubs in the coming days to advise on the required changes to underage competitions.
