Approximately 170 boys and girls enjoyed a great week of coaching and fun at the recent Strabane Sigersons G.A.A. Tyrone Summer Camp with a massive word of thanks being extended to all those who helped out in any capacity from the recruitment of the participants, tea making duties, First Aid cover, providing refreshments, helping out with the administration of the forms and monies and also the preparation of the club grounds.
All of the children involved in the camp received a complete 2015 Tyrone Summer Camp kit and a backpack for their endeavours with a number of individual awards also presented.
Oran McGrath and Niambh Ní Fhoghlú were selected to play at half time in this seasons Tyrone Senior Championship final whilst Gavin Molloy and Cara Harkin each received an O’Neill’s football after being selected as the boy and girl personalities of the camp. In a new category Shane Rouse and Ciarán O’Reilly won the skills tests and will travel to the Tyrone G.A.A. Centre of Excellence at Garvaghey later in the year alongside all the other camp winners.
A number of others were also highly commended for their attitudes and dedication during the course of the week and received a small token of appreciation for such.
The club are indebted to Lisnafin Ardanlee Trust Cross Community Development Association who in partnership with Derry City & Strabane District Council via their Community Support Fund were able to play a partnership role in offsetting the cost of the camp to the participants.
Finally a word of thanks to Camp Co-ordinator and Tyrone footballer Joe McMahon and all his coaches who were excellent with the children and to those members of Sigersons youth committee who were on hand all week to assist with various duties.
