Cuirfear tús le Rith 2018 ceann de phríomhimeachtaí náisiúnta Seachtain na Gaeilge 11 Márta i gCo. Aontroma. Mairfidh sé seacht lá, ag dul trí 12 contae agus críochnóidh sé Lá Fhéile Phádraig i gCiarraí. Tiocfaidh sé go dtí an Ómaigh agus Fionntamhnach ar an 12 Márta.
Iompraíonn na reathaithe bata ina bhfuil teachtaireacht dóchais ó Uachtarán na hÉireann i bhfolach. Méadaíonn an t-imeacht luach na Gaeilge do na daoine óga.
Cosnaíonn gach ciliméadar €100. Ní gá ciliméadar a cheannach le páirt a ghlacadh ach is iad na grúpaí a cheannóidh ciliméadar a bheidh chun cinn le teachtaireacht an Uachtaráin.

“Rith 2018”, one of the main national events of Seachtain na Gaeilge begins on 11th March in Antrim. The fun run will last seven days going through twelve counties until it ends on St Patrick’s Day in Kerry. “Rith” will come through Omagh and Fintona on 12th March.
The runners carry a baton with a message of support for the Irish language from the President of Ireland. This event increases the value of Irish for the young people.
Each kilometre will be sponsored costing €100. It is not necessary to buy a kilometre in order to take part, but it is those who buy a kilometre who will be to the fore of the run with the President’s message.
