The annual Trillick St. Macartan’s “Rockin’ with the Reds” festival runs from Thursday 21st closing on Sunday 24th August 2014. The festival which runs on the August Bank Holiday weekend provides a rich programme of events with something for everyone, from toddlers to senior citizens.
The festival starts on Thursday evening with the annual 5k / 10k road race, fun run and walk with a 7 p.m. start time. Registration is open from 6 p.m. with a technical t-shirt available for the 1st 100 entries. A wide range of prizes are available with refreshments provided for all.
The Traditional Irish Music session follows in the marquee at 8 p.m. with music provided by the talented musicians of Trillick C.C.E.
The popular “Teenage Disco” is also scheduled on Thursday from 9.30-11.30 p.m., with tunes provided by DJ Kerno.
Starting at 8 p.m. on Friday 22nd August is Family Night, with the much anticipated “80’s Theme Night” featuring many local “artists”. Come along an reminisce for what promises to be a fun night when memories from the 80’s will come flooding back in waves.
The showcase event is on Saturday 23rd August with the hugely talented country star Nathan Carter in the marquee. Nathan is supported by the up and coming Gavan McAloon with doors opening at 9 p.m. A huge crowd is anticipated and “Rockin’ with the Reds” certainly have the capacity to fulfil the demand.
The programme of events for Sunday starts with a Fancy Dress parade with mini truck run starting at 2 p.m. from the Marquee. Following the parade is a free admission “Fun Fair” for everyone, held on the football pitch from 3 – 6 p.m.
The weekend’s events conclude on Sunday 24th with the increasingly popular “Whistlin’ Donkeys” supported by the talented John Garrity. Doors open at 9 p.m. with dancing to late.
