Tyrone 3-10 Armagh 1-8
Tyrone hit three first half goals to set up an impressive McKenna Cup semi-final win over neighbours Armagh in front of 7,552 supporters at the Athletic Grounds.
Tyrone got the perfect start with PJ Lavery hitting the back of the net after just five minutes. The visitors were 2-3 to 0-1 ahead after 24 minutes when Shay McGuigan fired their second.
Stefan Campbell responded with a major for the Orchard County, but Mickey Harte’s charges finished the half strongly and were 3-4 to 1-4 ahead at half-time thanks to Seán Cavanagh’s goal three minutes before the break.
Tyrone increased their lead to nine with a pair of Connor McAliskey efforts at the start of the second half, while Kieran McGeeney’s side had to wait until 15 minutes into the second half before Miceal McKenna got their first score of the half.
However, in a much tighter second half, Tyrone held on to their lead superbly to book their place in the final, with man of the match McAliskey making sure of their passage with yet another fine score.
