Tyrone Footballers Record Sixth League Win

By damian Sun 25th Mar

Report from GAA.ie
Tyrone dismissed any notion that their early promotion would see them take it easy in their final two games in Division II, as they beat Meath by 10 points in Healy Park.
Mickey Harte’s men made it six wins out of six with an excellent performance, but the result means Meath have now lost four in a row in the Allianz Football League, and their final game against Louth in two weeks will be a relegation decider.
Tyrone led 1-6 to 0-3 at the break, with Stephen O’Neill’s fisted ball to the net after five minutes the opening score of the game, and it set the tone for the remainder.
Cian Ward was the Royals’ only scorer in the first half as Tyrone stalwarts O’Neill and Sean Cavanagh helped the Red Hand into their comfortable interval buffer.
Tyrone galloped into a bigger lead after the restart, Kyle Coney and Cathal McCarron firing over the black spot, and when Peter Harte knocked one over to make it 1-10 to 0-3, the game was basically over.
Meath got a couple more points but Tyrone were never in any danger and they eased to the finish to pile the pressure on Seamus McEnaney’s men.
