The Tyrone GAA Handball Adult and Juvenile 40×20 County Championships came to a close last week and in the weekend past the curtain came down on the 40×20 season in terms of national titles for the county – albeit this weekend there will be Mens and Ladies Open Doubles trials for the Team Ireland squad for Worlds201 while the She’s Ace Girls Inter-provincial series is to come on the weekend of 2nd May 2015.
1. McCrory & McBride claim prestigious Irish Nationals titles
The curtain came down on the 40×20 handball season at the weekend with a massive weekend of Juniors action in the 2015 Irish Junior 40×20 Nationals. Tyrone handballers went into the weekend with high hopes of a big showing and in the end came away with two majors as Eilise McCrory claimed the Girls 17 & Under title and thus her place on the official GAA Handball TEAM IRELAND while Lorcan McBride secured the Boys 13 & Under title.
2. Tyrone GAA Handball County 40×20 Championships completed
All the Tyrone GAA Handball Championship titles have now been decided in the county following the Juvenile Boys and Girls Doubles Championship finals in the past week. This concludes the action within the county in 40×20 and once again saw a hugely successful series of competitions in which over 240 players in all competed in juvenile and adult leagues and championships, where over 850 matches in all were completed.

3. Lough 1Wall Showdown 2015
Loughmacrory GAA Handball Club launched their brand new One Wall Handball Arena in June 2014 and the inaugural Lough 1Wall Showdown in August. This year, with the Worlds in August 2015, the 2nd running of the Lough 1WALL Showdown will take place on the weekend of Friday 17th – Sunday 19th July 2015. The Club have big plans for this Event in which The Open titles were won in 2014 by Wally Amaro and Catriona Casey.
A One Wall Season build-up to the event will be launched on May Bank Holiday weekend from which stage a Team One Wall League will be launched with teams featuring players from Under 10 up to Open grade and up to Masters, in girls and boys codes and take place every week for 5 weeks. This is a very unique League event and details will be released soon.
4. World Handball Championships 2015 Entry Information
While Breacach’s Eilise McCrory will represent the Official TEAM IRELAND at the 2015 Worlds, there will also be a host of other Tyrone GAA Handball players making the journey to Calgary later this year for the 2015 World Handball Championships and full details on grades, entry and hotel information is now available on the Official Worlds 2015 Website.
