The Tyrone Ladies GFA were officially confirmed as Garvaghey Patrons last night at a presentation made by Club Tyrone officials Mark Conway and Martin Haughey at the monthly county board meeting at Kellys Inn.
The meeting was hosted at Kellys as delegates from all the Tyrone ladies clubs and the county executive were shown around the new Garvaghey development. Weather conditions were poor but everyone was impressed by the work that has gone on at Tyrones tremendous new facility that will feature five floodlit sand carpet pitches, one floodlit 4G pitch, full team changing and support facilities plus Tyrone County GAA administration resources.
Mr Conway outlined the continuing work at the site and gave delegates a detailed look at the plans for the building that will be started shortly, he also made it clear that while the Tyrone Ladies GFA were patrons of the project they were also big players and partners in the new facility due to open in 2013.
Speaking at the presentation a delighted Tyrone ladies chairman Martin Conway said he was happy to see the Tyrone Ladies involved
“The Project will provide an anchor for Gaelic Games in Tyrone in the future and is fully-inclusive for all aspects of Gaelic Sport. We (Tyrone Ladies Gaelic Football Association) are proud patrons of “Garvaghey” and look forward to playing an integral role as the project is completed and put into use.”
